The village Waal was first documented in historical documents in the year 890 and is famous for its Passion Plays. The main attractions are the Passion Play Theatre, the neo-Gothic church St. Anna and the Castle Waal in the centre of the village.

Do not miss the annual arts & crafts market on the third week-end in July with about 80 exhibitors.
